We finally finished our Traveling Mural project and it is now ready to have pieces sent across the USA. We are partnered with schools in North Carolina, California, Tennessee, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Once we have all of the pieces received for our partners we will assemble a collaborative mural that our libraries have each worked on. Stay tuned! 📚❤️👍 #sippicanschool #sippicanspecialists #weareor Months ago we started working on our Traveling Mural Project and it is FINALLY assembled! It’s such a sweet representation of our school that I hate to cut it apart to send to our partners BUT that is the way it works. It’s a fantastic way to connect with library classes across the country. We’ll be sure to take a good picture to share with you of all the students holding it up. We were able to secure them for FREE for all students in those grade levels from a very generous foundation. They are the perfect books to read today on this snowy afternoon! (Fabulous art from award winning author/illustrator Paul Meisel, too!) (I need a PR volunteer to tackle that for me, I think!) In any case, each class is a busy blur of books, questions, and activity. The only pic I managed to get this week was of the 116 books that I catalogued over the past few weeks. This year’s theme is “Expedition: READ!” and it will run from Jan. 12-30. Track your reading every day and return your log at the end of the challenge for a special prize! We love Wonderbooks - they let you listen to the narrator while you follow along with the text and illustrations. Which one will students like the most?
