We were fortunate enough to receive a grant from the Lighthouse Fund for the school library this year. The grant purchased 8 Makey Makey kits and supplies for an after school program. What is Makey Makey? Basically, it is a small programming board that connects to a computer and allows you to turn everyday objects into computer keys. Think of what an online game might look like if you used Play-doh as your left/right arrow keys, or if you turned bananas into an online piano. Check out a video from Makey Makey that shows some of the projects you can try. Do you have any ideas? Write them in the comments below! Look for a permission slip to go home this Friday (October 23). The group will meet from 3-4 p.m. in the school library on Mondays in November and December and is for students in grades 4-6. Come join us!
