Our annual Winter Reading Challenge will run from January 13-February 13 this year and the theme is “Winter Reading Workout.” We are inviting all students (and staff!) to participate by committing to read at home each day during the challenge!
Numerous studies have shown that reading fiction books offers many health benefits including:
- Decreasing stress by up to 68%
- Increasing the ability to show empathy toward others
- Improving your memory
With this knowledge in mind, let’s challenge all families to support the practice of daily reading at home. The impact of this habit is undeniable – and an incredible gift to our children.
All sheets can be returned to the school library after February vacation.
Students do not need to complete the entire sheet
in order to participate in the challenge!
Students that do participate will be recognized at an upcoming All School Meeting, and will receive a small gift. They will also be entered in a drawing to win $10 gift cards to our upcoming Spring Book Fair!
Look for the official memo to come home from school this week, and find it linked here, as well. Contact Mrs. Barrett in the Library with any questions. Happy Reading!
