Sippican School – how are you this week?  Congratulations on reaching 100,000 minutes for our summer challenge!  When I checked this evening, we had read for 108,024 minutes.  This is awesome.  Keep up the great work!

ImageWhat are you reading this week?  I’ve finished three books this week.  One that my son (Isaac) and I liked a lot was Have You Seen My New Blue Shoes? by Eve Bunting.  It’s on the first grade reading list this summer.  He asks for it several times a day!  It tells the story of a cute little duck who can’t find his new socks.  Can you guess where they are?

Congratulations, again, and write a comment if you’re reading a book you love!

Emma! So nice to see your comment. What do you think of Magee so far? I think my favorite book by Jerry Spinelli is Stargirl. If you haven’t read that one, you might like it. It’s about a girl who is not afraid to stand out in a crowd. She changes her name to Stargirl, and does all kinds of crazy stuff. The book tells the story of a friendship she forms, and what happens when peer pressure gets the best of her new friend. I loved it! Hope you’re having a good summer!

Leah! I am so glad to hear that! City of Ember is one of my all-time favorite books. Let me know what you think once you are done. 🙂
