Fun @ the Library Doesn’t End!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Elizabeth Taber Library’s Summer Reading Program!  I hope you were able to make it to one of the awesome events they hosted.  Just because the events are over doesn’t mean you should forget about the library!  Stop by to visit with Mrs. Grey and hear about some new books when you get a chance.  Keep logging your minutes on our website, and I’ll post an update in a few days.  Enjoy the weekend and bring a book with you on your adventures!

Weekly Minute Update: 108,024 Minutes Read!

Sippican School – how are you this week?  Congratulations on reaching 100,000 minutes for our summer challenge!  When I checked this evening, we had read for 108,024 minutes.  This is awesome.  Keep up the great work!

ImageWhat are you reading this week?  I’ve finished three books this week.  One that my son (Isaac) and I liked a lot was Have You Seen My New Blue Shoes? by Eve Bunting.  It’s on the first grade reading list this summer.  He asks for it several times a day!  It tells the story of a cute little duck who can’t find his new socks.  Can you guess where they are?

Congratulations, again, and write a comment if you’re reading a book you love!

This Week @ the Library: Build a Fairy House

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you have all found some great books to read for this week.  If you haven’t, stop by and visit with Mrs. Grey at the Elizabeth Taber Library.  She’s got some great suggestions for you!  Speaking of the E.T. Library, have you signed up for the weekly event for this Wednesday?  On July 17, the event is “Build a Fairy House”!  It will be at 2pm at the Music Hall.  I’d love to see pictures once you’ve finished.

This weekend I read “The Worm Whisperer” by Betty Hicks.  It’s on the fourth grade reading list. Has anyone checked it out?  After I read it, I wondered if there are towns that really have woolly worm races.  Are there really prizes?  That would make a good research question!
