4th Grade Wordles

Our 4th grade flex group just finished talking about excellent word choice. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been reading some C.S. Lewis. He wrote The Chronicles of Narnia, and we loved his word choice! Students made a list of their favorite words and put them into word clouds. We used Wordle to do this. Try one for yourself!

My name is Mariah and I’d like to tell you about a great book I’ve just read called The School Play From the Black Lagoon by Mike Thaler and Jared Lee.  Mrs. Green announces that the class will be putting on a school play.  All the kids are excited to audition for the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, except for Hubie.  The only part he wants is to be in the audience!  But you can’t be famous if you’ve never even stepped on stage.  You can find this book at our school library or the Elizabeth Taber Library.

My name is Tiana Daniel and I’d like to tell you about a great book I’ve just read called Series of Unfortunate Events: The Reptile Room by Lemony Snickett.  This book is about three young Baudelaire siblings named Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, who used to live with their mother and father, but they died in a fire.  The Baudelaire orphans had to live with someone else, so they moved in with their Uncle Monty.  Their uncle is a scientist, who studies snakes and other reptiles.  The three young children love living with their Uncle Monty, but an evil man with one eyebrow and an eye tattoo, named Count Olaf, wants to steal the Baudelaire fortune.  Will the orphans ever figure out Count Olaf’s plan?  Will something happen to their uncle?  Read this book to find out.  You can find this book at our school library.

My name is Josh and I’d like to tell you about a great book I’ve just read called Chasing the Falconers by Gordan Korman.  Chasing the Falconers is a book about two kids on the run.  They were chased to Denver were they try to free their parents.  Can they free their parents before getting caught and thrown into jail?  You can find this book at our school library.
