Did anyone see the note from Mrs. Grey in The Wanderer? Congratulations to all who participated in the summer reading program at the Elizabeth Taber Library! And a big shout out to those who became junior library volunteers – nicely done! Here’s the letter:
Hi, Everyone! I am looking forward to seeing you bright and early on Tuesday morning! In the meantime, don’t forget to keep logging all of that wonderful reading you’ve been up to. Here’s an article about our reading project that was published in Sippican Week.
Happy Sunday night, Sippican students! We have two weeks of summer vacation left – can you believe it? I hope you have lots of great events planned with your families and friends. I’ll remind you that it is also the perfect time to pick up a good book.
Here’s one I just started, called Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein. He’s written a few scary books in the past, but this one is a little different. This book really caught my eye because it takes place in a library (one of my favorite places!), and it is a mystery about kids who get to spend the night there. Here’s the problem – in the morning, they can’t get out! Help them to solve the mystery and escape.
If you like it, try From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg or Who Stole the Wizard of Oz by Avi.
Finally, we have now read for 114,197 minutes in our summer reading challenge. Make sure you log your minutes on the Scholastic website. Use the link at the top of the website.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Elizabeth Taber Library’s Summer Reading Program! I hope you were able to make it to one of the awesome events they hosted. Just because the events are over doesn’t mean you should forget about the library! Stop by to visit with Mrs. Grey and hear about some new books when you get a chance. Keep logging your minutes on our website, and I’ll post an update in a few days. Enjoy the weekend and bring a book with you on your adventures!
